HOPMAN CUP DESIGN COMPETITION

Hi Guys,

Here is the Hopman Cup brief. To be finished by the Friday of Week 15 (12th

June. (four weeks)

The prize is a $1,000 gift voucher and serious international exposure. Marks

will not be given but 5 marks will be deducted from final assessment for non

compliance!

This is the important part of the brief

The design has to be in line with Hyundai Hopman Cup XXII theme of  “Doubles

the action”. The play on 22 and doubles should help form a design which is

to be printed on a white T-shirt, a Navy T-shirt, a poster and the Official

Souvenir Programme cover.

The design has to transcend age boundaries and have some kind of Tennis

element to it ("The Event of the West"). See last year's example.

With thanks

Adam

A T-shirt comp

Hi folks, have a look at the details below and see if you're intereste din submitting something. (Also, over at our sister-blog http://identity2101.blogspot.com you'll see a handful of other comps you may be interested in).

The Alumni team are doing a lot of groundwork to increase awareness to students of the importance of alumni and as part of this we are going to do some "roadshows" on campus. As part of this we are going to giveaway free t-shirts. If possible we would like a student to design the t-shirts with some funky and modern graphics, I hope this makes sense. In my mind I have the idea of the "hedkandi" style of graphics but by no stretch of the imagination am I visually creative. We would be willing to give the student $50 Myers voucher as a token of our appreciation.

The brief would be
Printed 2 colour, two sides
t-shirt can be any colour
Bright, attention grabbing
Currently our slogan is "Stay Connected"
Does not need to have ECU logo
The word Alumni must appear somewhere and has to be quite prominent
It also must be wearable

Do you think you might be able to identify a couple of students that would be able to help? Unfortunately we have quite a narrow timescale for this and would be looking for something 2 weeks from today - 8th April.

Hello

Welcome to the Vector Illustration blog. Make sure to check here from time to time for instructions, handy hints, virtual hand-outs, assignment info (see the assignments list to the right) and the like. A lot of what you need will be made available, through here, in electronic format only. Every post of information on here potentially saves half a ream of paper in photocopying.

Remember, this unit is about exploring reasons for drawing: What can illustration lend to visual communication that realism (esp. photography) can not?

Enjoy your forays into illustrator land, have fun with it, any issues with the unit, email me (s.medley at ecu.edu.au) or put your question as a comment. That way you're likely to help out others who have the same issue.
